Joan Jett. She's been an icon of mine since she was 16 and I was 13.

Uh...Joan Jett is still alive as far as I know.
Johnny Cash. His influence and important was hard to calculate.
I second that. I remember I was swimming in a friends pool and another friend came outside and told us John Lennon had just been shot. We climbed out of the pool and the rest of the afternoon we listened to the Beatles and rocked and cried. His is the death I remember the most. What a loss. The absolute worst however was John Lennon - I grew up listening to the Beatles and I'll never forget that day... how could I? My 'sweet' 16th birthday was on Dec. 9th 1980, and I woke up that morning to Beatles music on the radio, only to find out he'd been killed late the night before.
I cried all the way to school.
Deb.
Aaliyah's death was hard enough, but Pattie's would just crush me altogether. please not anytime soon.
Without a doubt, Karen Carpenter. She had the most beautiful voice I've ever heard and she died way too young and so tragically. Her singing of Ave Maria brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to it ....
For me the death of Johnny Cash, when I saw his video for hurt I knew he was saying his good bye to the world.
I never saw the video. But I've heard the song and it is powerful and kinda sad.
