White Gay Americans will all vote Republican

If the RNC knew they could absolutely get away with it and they had no danger of being voted-out because of it, their Party platform would include roundup and extermination of gays.

Possibly with liberal amounts of torture thrown into the mix.

I refuse to vote for anybody, ever, from a political party which has absolute, seething hatred for me.

Not to mention that the Republican Party is absolute 100% NEGATIVITY ON EVERYTHING AND EVERYBODY, with no exceptions of any kind. It is years since I've heard a high profile Republican say anything GOOD about anybody except one of their own. In their mind, every attribute of today's America is completely wrong, and must be made over to fit their warped version of humanity, which of course includes corporations as people...and actual human beings as entirely expendable.

If 6 to 10 million people LOSE HEALTH INSURANCE because the Supreme Court rules on "their" side on the state insurance exchanges, and if people again start becoming bankrupt and homeless because of healthcare debts, Republicans will be doing HIGH-FIVES everywhere. They love an America where people die from neglect, because those people deserve it, because they're poor.

They hate Sharia Law, but they want to rule the United States with their own sets of laws which look exactly like Sharia Law.

If you haven't noticed it is the democrats who want to change everything, and the Republicans who do not. Ask yourself. How do you like our tax system? Health care system? Economic system and corporations? Political system and contributions? Do you want to continue aborting millions of Americans? Continue importing millions of American? Is there anything about America you do like.

Nonsense. ..........

If I did that I wouldn't be able to vote, too many conflicting categories. Completely understandable reaction, however.

Finally this intellectually vacant thread has ended up where it belongs.

And yet here you are AGAIN with yet another intellectually vacant comment. Go play in traffic if this thread doesn't meet your requirements for mental stimulation or adrenaline.

You won't be missed.

^^ No no...Don't mind me. It is just nice that a thread about American politics, built on a ridiculous premise and filled with the ridiculous, racist rantings of Benvolio....with a heavy handed helping of Grimshaw, has found the forum that it belongs in.

Y'all carry on.

I predict this will occur in the next 10-15 years after most of the Gay Rights battles have been won. Currently, 37 states in North America allow some sort of gay marriage. After all equal protections for gays have been acheived, just what reason is there for Gay white men to remain with the Democrats? They've already been President Obama's harshest critics despite he being the best and most powerful ally gays have had. Plus, we must not forget the racial undertones of it all. Once White gay men feel equal to their white heterosexual counterparts, they will behave like most of them by holding onto to their white privilege. This will mean challenging policies that traditionally favors minorities in America. So yes, I predict most white gay men will developed an antipathy towards people of color and eventually turn into raging conservatives. Groups like Go-Proud and The Log Cabin Republicans are only the beginning.

http://www.thewire.com/national/2010/11/why-are-more-gay-people-voting-republican/22400/

Why did you post a "report" that was from four (going on five) years ago?

Do have any response to my remarks, which addresses the report, at Post #77?

I know several gay millionaires and it is already true they vote gop if it's a northeastern type who is liberal on gay issues and other social issues--they love their money and love their tax cuts so they can buy another home or Range Rover or boy toy.

If the Republican party wasn't the party of racist and anti-gay bigots and religious nuts whose political success is based on stoking fear of ethnic, sexual and religious minorities, they would win a larger share of votes of upper class blacks, Latinos, Jews, gays, atheists. Democrats would also win a larger share of white working class voters. In other words, class would have a bigger impact on voting than it does now.

Republicans main problem in attracting more votes from the demographic groups whose vote they lose is that their ideology is not shared by these groups, and many whites who vote for them out of fear. Quite apart from the race issue is theory of government. Republicans run on limited government. For example, Jews and Asians are disproportionately represented in higher education than other ethic groups. Republican policies that starve public universities for funds, or under-fiance public education will continue to drive Jewish and Asian voters away from the Republicans, even if they get their religious nuts and bigots under control. Catholic voters, both Latino and white, also believe strongly in "big" government and believe government has a roll to play in improving the economy. That is also unlikely to change. White Catholics vote democrat in much higher numbers than white Protestants. Democrats really only need to hold onto about 40% of white Catholics to win elections, and they win a much larger share in most Northeastern states.

The other truism that is problematic for Republicans is people tend to keep voting for the party they voted for the first time they voted. Since Obama won such a large percentage of young voters, including young white and young gay voters, they will tend to vote Democrat for the rest of their lives. Unless Republicans are able to appeal to new, young gay and white voters, they will be in trouble in the long haul. We're in for an interesting decade or two.

The other problem the GOP has is, as Gov. Bobby Jindal said, they are the party of stupid. Gay men. including gay white men, tend to be better educated, more cultured and more urban than straight white men. The Republican war on science and intellect will not help them win the votes of gay men.

What socialist policies do Democrats advocate are you referring to?

What socialist policies do Democrats advocate are you referring to?

The policy of taxpayers giving money to losers decade after decade after decade and then giving money to those losers' children decade after decade. And of course by then the losers children have inseminated more and they, of course, expects the taxpayers to pay for those losers for every single day of their life— feeding them, housing them, toileting them, monitoring them, policing them, etc etc etc, for decade after decade ad nauseam.

What socialist policies do Democrats advocate are you referring to?

The policy of regulating every aspect of business in a never ending increase of regulation. The Marxist class warfare, teaching hatred of the successful by the welfare class.

That's exactly the position of every socialist and every socialist party in Europe. Socialism has nothing to do with "handouts" at all. Ideally there wouldn't be any, which is why they have created the welfare state and social safety net, which is much more effective at getting people back into the workforce quickly, and permanently. What the US calls "welfare" is actually a right-wing design to keep people poor for their entire lives--it provides the absolute minimum to survive, and contributes to an eternal cycle of widespread poverty, which tends to act as a sort of vortex. Distressingly, it has been claimed by the more-left-right-wing party here. Even worse, the Republican plan is to defund welfare programs entirely without any replacement.

"Handouts" and the entire concept of them is an American, corporatist, right-wing construction. Outwardly they abhor it because it essentially throws taxpayer money away (which is true), but their reasons are that it is too "helpful". That is bullshit. Welfare programs only work if they are comprehensive, well-funded, and integral. Thus, US "welfare" is actually not welfare at all, it is "handouts".

If people were serious about creating a functional, efficient, and effective welfare program (not American "welfare"), we would have to look to Scandinavia. Norway and Denmark have the most effective programs in the world.

It's worse in Britain

The Equalities Commission report "How Fair is Britain?", published in early 2011, says

In the UK only 47% of Muslim men and 24% of Muslim women are employed.

The Wikileaks cables also contained some interesting revelations about the levels of "disability" among Muslims in Britain.

Muslims were also found to have the highest disability rates - with 24 per cent of men and 21 per cent of women claiming a disability - while the cable also cited statistics claiming Muslims were also the most likely group to be unavailable for work or not actively seeking employment due to illness, their studies or family commitments.

I agree with everything you say about Scandinavia. But to be fair, that level of functionality, efficiency, and effectiveness does not really extend to the rest of Europe.

Sorry I wasn't clear Ben. I wasn't looking for regurgitated Sean Hannity/FOX News nonsensical talking points, but actual examples of policies you, Pat Grimshaw and your ilk disagree with. I realize Republicans are fact and evidence challenged, but meet me half-way here and give me something real to which I can actually respond.
