No you don't. AT ALL. It's not an arbitrary personal dislike or whimsy peeve, and it's not about some symbolism that A&F represents: it's about what A&F plainly does, like Spanish ZARA and so many other brands, which is scamming people by hyping and selling goods that not only are no good, but that create a crappy model of business that ternishes their sector and the whole economic system that they are distorting.People who unnecessaily bash popular things annoy me more than people who like them. There's a difference between stating your opinion and overreacting.
I get it. You don't like A&F. But do you need to bash them as if they've made the national debt go up or raped your grandparents?
Yay, you're smarter/cooler/more unique/more economical than those who shop at A&F. Do you want a lollipop or a sticker now?
With that said, I'm not much of a fan of A&F. Their shirts are soft and bright and one of my most softest and warmest sweaters are from them. I just don't think paying the price they ask for is worth it.
People who inanely claim that discussions are ultimately inane are even more unnecessary than the silliest of argle-bargles. Yay, you're smarter/cooler/more unique/more economical/more exclusive/more enlightened/better than the rest because you are above the game of liking and disliking brands, because you simply don't feel the need to compromise... that's why other people's discussion is, to you, unnecessary...
You don't praise or criticize or bash ONE side according to some more or less reasonable motivation, you just stand apart laughing at BOTH, laughing at the rest of people who are not as ultimately clever and aware about the questions; you stand there without getting involved in the real question and the real issues and consequences implied because it's just, always according to you, "unnecessary" (and maybe also so uncool, unpleasant, nasty, uncalled-for and even... "not amusing"?), and you only highlight the circus side of people who at least are aware of something that necessarily deserves, at least, some attention, even if they do not very well how, and you only dismiss the real problem (you kill the dogs, you kill the rabies) and dismiss the discussion, which, let's remember, it's totally "unnecessary", and you raise yourself as the truly aware, the enlightened, the reasonable. The cynical. The parasite.
Yeah, now post a definition of cynical and say that it's ME the cynical one. At any rate, that would make me ÜBERCYNICAL.
