Who will win Presidential election 2012?

please actually read my post.

campaign financing was fucked before CU.

Just focusing on campaign financing misses the real problem with Citizens United, which was one of the most distorted things the Court has ever done: a correct decision with a totally WRONG argument behind it. That argument showed up a massive hole in our political system: that any entity other than individuals citizens or legal residents has any voice at all in the entire political spectrum.

Only individual humans have rights, because rights come from being sentient entities. Corporations are not sentient, they are artificial entities created by the legal system. Thus corporations have no rights, and especially no political rights. They, along with all artificial legal entities, have to be ejected completely from the political process.

I'm voting for Mitt. I am a Utah mormon but that isn't the reason. I work for arguably the worst department in the government. If an argument against Mitt is that he pays less tax than his maid, well I don't want someone who doesn't take advantage of everything he can. That's what Americans do. The other argument is that his company is in the business of buying other business and either making them profitable or gets rid of them. Yes people lost jobs. But, we now have a government that is so full of redunduncies that we need someone like Mitt to trim the fat. Oh, I voted for Obama because I was tired of Republicans. I'm not a fan of Obama anymore.

So you like people who use the power of government to get themselves privileges others don't enjoy?

Wow -- somehow I don't think that's a very American attitude: Americans believe that government exists to keep everything fair for everyone, not to grant privileges.

You are dead wrong. What you mean is that in YOUR opinion, only individuals should have rights. In actuality, corporations do have legal rights, whether you like it or not, and that is not going to change within your lifetime, if ever. They have the right to property, the right to due process, and the right to free speech, free practice of religion etc. It is stupid for you to keep saying they do not have rights.

Corporations do not have the same rights as people. Deal with it, benvolio.

No one says that they have all the same rights as people. But, they do have many legal rights, including free speech.

Actually since Mittens is good at running up the credit on a place then going bankrupt I suppose that is also his plan for the US. He says he will cut taxes but extend spending amounts... so after he runs our credit up the question will be WHO will buy us? China is tanking...hard... so wrong answer RPOC.

he did a pretty good MOFO job running the Olympics - real good actually

not as interesting a story as I like to fire people but .........

worth a read

if you're really interested in some level of balance

Olympics Spotlights Mitt Romney

 Now he resorts to calling Barack Obama by his middle name. Romney could hardly be worse? Who said Barack is a bad president? He's a pretty decent one. Romney on the other hand... would collapse the economy. News is Paul Ryan is being vetted for the VP slot. Help us all.

Notice that you guys call Romney names, but get upset if we use BO's middle name. BO has bee one or our worst Presidents, with no regard whatsoever ever for mountain of debt he is piling up.
,

Oh yea, what names do I call Romney? I've called Romney either by his last or first name. And now you're calling him "BO". Do you have anything else unpleasant to say? One of our worst presidents? On what basis do you support that weak statement? Mountain of debt? Just goes to show you are so out of touch with reality.

Romney is routinely called "Mittens" on this thread and others. As usual you want a double standard. You real objection to His name Hussein is that it reminds people that he was "Steeped in Islam", before he joined Wright's hate group.
BOs Five trillion of deficit spending is a mountain of debt and Obama care will greatly exacerbate the problem. We cannot survive another four years of him.

Romney was called "Mittens" by one of the more right leaning posters on here. I call him Mitt or Romney, but usually Romney. Obama isn't a Muslim. Get over that already. He is an American citizen. And as far as Kenya, you do realize it is a majority Christian nation right? And Wright's hate group? Do you have anymore republican propaganda and talking points you want to post here?
Why then are you so sensitive about the name Hussein?

The following remark will no doubt get deleted (and not without some justification) but I'm going to say it anyway and take what comes...

YOU ARE AN ABSOLUTE MESS!

Back to the original question:

I think whoever can win 2 of these 3 states (Florida, Ohio, Virginia) will win the election. I think that will be Obama.

All are bubble states that polls have back and forth; if the economy doesn't get some lift soon, the president could be sinking.

Obama's numbers have been increasing in Florida and they remain decently strong in Ohio and Virginia.

Last month 80,000 jobs were opened, but 85,000 new people applied for Social Security Disabilityhttp://news.investors.com/article/617233/201207061636/disability-climbs-faster-than-jobs-under-obama.htm BO is running out of time to turn it around. I would admit that the President has little control over the economy and employment. But BO has done things that hurt employment: Obama care; threat of tax hike; immigration.

the simple stupid is that given the impotence of the economy Pres. Obama should be a goner

he hasn't done the job that the people voted him to do or that he said he would do

the economy is a disaster

BUT

Mitt Romney has proven over and over again - that he hasn't a clue how to "read the room" or react in a smart simple way

Obamacare/SCOTUS recent decision is a prime example - Romney said it's a penalty, now he says it's a tax, it's been a while since the ruling came down - one that was ripe for the pickings politically anyway

It's a fight between 2 guys who shouldn't win - one has to

That one is Obama - as openings in states like Ohio are now moving back into Obama's camp - at a time when the current (i love the ocean) is moving Romney's way

Romney is an awful candidate - not sure about his presidential timber

it's funny because the bullshit the mainstream media drones on about has NOTHING to do with Romney's real skill set to govern

Bain, personal wealth, ability to connect with average Joe/Sally

his primary weakness is his inability - perhaps part of it is staffing - to seize the moment

LeBron James quieted the doubters this June - changed the narrative

Mittens could do that - but does anyone thing he would know what to do with the ball in the final 2 minutes?

The recent WSJ article about Mittens rings true - very much so

Only a piece of shit economy keeps him afloat .......... and it will take an epic meltdown to get people away from "can i vote for romney?" to "we need to a change"

Good comments Chance.

I was concerned from the start of Romney's desire to go after the failures of Obama.

The economy is worse than most people are willing to admit.

However, it's only July ... long time until November.

Oh, I voted for Obama because I was tired of Republicans. I'm not a fan of Obama anymore.

If your not a fan of Obama "anymore" you never were. Lots of people voted for him because it was popular and trendy to be anti-republican at the time because it was and still is embarrassing to be a republican.

Barack Obama will win without your vote against him.
