Why are so many dumb fucks so willing to bareback?

I see this all the time on craigslist or hookup sites. They'll have a picture of their ass and somewhere in the ad it will say "looking for bareback tops" or something like that.

Are these people realy that clueless or they just don't give a fuck? The thing is.. I see this ALL THE TIME. Is it really that bad to use a condom? It's one thing if you forgot the condom but these people seem to INSIST on it being without a condom.

It makes me wonder just how any people are spreading disease through online sex and also makes me wonder of straight people are this careless as well.

I'm not really fond of condoms to use myself but I'm not the kinda guy that just hooks up with strangers over the internet. When I have a boyfriend we have sex with a condom the first three months and after testing we stop using condoms.

I think most of the barebackers online aren't aware that those diseases can happen to them. Its like cancer, lot of people think it never happens to them 'til it does.

Spectre, I agree if you're in a relationship it's different but people hooking up with random strangers online and doing it is a problem.

this is totally correct for me as well. not a fan of them, which means no one-night stands - but i'm completely okay with that. i have no desire for anonymous sex. with a partner i like - it's all about being on the same page and doing what's best for both of us. but i have to genuinely really like the guys i get intimate with.

This is like asking why do people drink and drive or text and drive?
Short answer is a lot of them do it because they think they can do it and nothing bad can happen.

And there are many other reasons...
Some do it for a thrill, some do it because it feels good, some do it because they don't really know all the nasty stuff you can catch, and some think nothing bad can happen, and some probably want to catch HIV, as fucked up as that sounds. Some do it because they think everybody else is doing it, some do it because they have a STD and don't care anymore, some do it because they don't like condoms...

And its not just gay men. I think straights are doing it more as well because there seem to be a lot of unplanned babies recently.

heterosexual men and women typically don't hook up through a hole in a wall either. and yes, while tons of our straight brethren get lucky by taking chicks home from bars etc - there's no question that there's a certain faction of gay men who are GALACTICALLY promiscuous and hook up with TONS of men they don't even know. glory holes, bath houses, sex clubs etc - those are the realm of the homo. and i'll bet way more diseases are spread through that kind of contact than by guys going home with other dudes from bars. makes me shudder just thinking about it.
