  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

why don't all blacks support gays?

Its funny, your post #90 where you state your personal opinion in an aside seems as though the books didn't sink in. You seem to endorse some of the reasons collected in your survey of black opinion, and you specifically minimize the plight of gay people in comparison to that of black people or even other holocaust survivors. To me that is what crosses the line.

Although I'm aware that Jews weren't the only ones to suffer during the Holocaust, I do not believe the numbers nor the plight was as intense as the others. That is my opinion on the subject. I've read the material, I have a BA in history and poli sci, I've also toured the concentration camps (maybe you were there too) and I still feel this way. I also don't enjoy comedies as much as I do suspense films, I love Gone w/ the Wind and I prefer the movie over the book, and given the choice, I'll always choose ooey gooey treats over healthier ones. Again those are just my opinions and you're free to have a different viewpoint.

Why are some of you giving legitimacy to this "baited thread"?
Some have given thoughful retorts to the "so called" issue, yet this angry troll responds by being condescending and defiant.

Fail Much?

i challenge you to back that statement up. please use quotes to support me being "condescending," "defiant," "baiting," and being a "troll."

i'm sorry the issue we are discussing is uncomfortable to you, but the consensus here is this is a real issue, one that many of us hope to change.

I didn't concede anything. I'm laughing my ass off at you and the fact you even had the nerve to tell me to apologize when you created this thread with questionably offensive motives.

:rotflmao: @ you some more.

you keep coming back to that but yet cannot produce a single quote of mine to support this?

i created this for one purpose, and that was to continue or growth and maturity as a society, expand "equal rights," and to point out the hypocrisy of asking for fairness while not granting it. not sure how that falls under the "questionable" or "offensive" categories. but i'm sure those quotes you are about to find will add some clarity.

For what? Neo agrees with me and that's rare. So obviously you have been very crass in not only your title, OP and most of your posts throughout this entire thread.

Very little enlightenment is going to come out of a badly-written thread about black people's views on a porn forum. Continue this growth into the real world where it really counts for something.

you again make a baseless accusation, then run when i challenge you to support your claim. what i'm asking of you is quite simple, either stop making accusations, or support them. can you not do that?

TylerDurden~ get the fuck outta here with your contrived altruism! Many jubbers have offered brilliant comments on this issue, yet U ignored them and focused of those U managed to piss off.

you made an accusation, i asked you to support it (all you had to do was quote a post of mine), yet this is what you come back with? hate to break it to you but anyone reading this exchange is going to see that you are the one here to be confrontational and aggressive. the reason i am calm and you are not is because i am here for the right reasons.

I didn't make a baseless accusation. Your confrontational and disdainful attitude towards blacks is a fact. You did not create this thread/ask this question with an open, curious mind. Your mind was already made up about how you felt about the situation. You just needed a few JUBbers to co-sign.

again, if you are going to make an accusation, support it. what you are doing is speculating, based on the previous threads created by others. you said so yourself. just because you have failed, multiple times to support your claim, do not attempt to attack my integrity or why this thread was created. you are providing nothing of value to this thread, and your continual attack of me only dilutes any argument you are attempting to make. please, for the sake of others who seem to take this topic more seriously, step aside and allow those with supported arguments a chance to speak.

god damn i said all you bitches are pretty, what else do you want from me? blood?

*yawns* Our own Madonna here plays the "Will you guys stop attacking me" victim card way better than you. Nice attempt though. If you are unable to see that this thread and it's question was incendiary then that's your problem.

This thread has no real value, you've sullied that from jump street.

you are still hiding behind garble. you put yourself in this position, you made the accusations, had no support, and are backing away now. run along, go find another post to pollute. its sad too, being both black and gay you could have been a valuable contributor to this thread, but instead you resulted to putting more time into attacking than adding value. but as you stated, you were never here to learn, so maybe it was you who came in with their mind already made up?

So I'm the OP? It was me who raised the $250,000 question, "Why don't all blacks support gays"!

Thank you Tyler for reminding me. I had forgotten.

was your post supposed to tie into the post you quoted? because it does not. sorry, but you failed again to add support. you're really struggling with this concept, but it is quite humorous to watch.

Bill Maher answered this question best.

"Black people love them some Jesus".

I didn't read through the entire thread, so sorry if this has already been covered.

The Black community clearly includes a higher percentage of people who practice religion, than the general population.

It would be interesting to include those percentages as well, when making the comparison. I have the feeling this accounts for much of the difference.

Um Tyler.... you do realize that your going back and forth with me about bullshit just proves my point I had about you all along...

Just making sure.

I did you a favor and quoted how you felt about me all along above. so now i'm waiting for you to connect the dots between those accusations, and our going back and forth (since you claim the two are linked).

you've never been able to support a claim before, so if you fail to do it again I wont be upset.

ball's in your court, let's see what you do with it...

that's a very valid point. I have no doubt that there is a high correlation between those who are religious and those that oppose homosexuality, regardless of race. as many interpret the bible as non-accepting of homosexuality. but a key element in this thread, is unlike Christians who are often the majority, blacks and homosexuals have shared the role of being minorities, and have both been victims of inexcusable oppression. so it would seem logical, for blacks to support, not oppose, equal rights for gays based on their own history.

uThis is a retarded question.

just because someone is black doesnt mean they are supportive of gay rights.

For 1 There are alot of black people who are conservative

2. There are alot of black people who are religious (muslim, christian)

3 You have to take in acount the social standards and norms of black culture

for example I'm a Jamaican American and in Jamaica they actually murder gay people because they are gay.

Now do you actually think just because a person skin color is black that they would reject the norms that was instilled in them while growing up and automaticly support gay rights because they are a minority?

That's like saying a puerto rican should support dominican rights because they are both latino (which they should) but you are discounting the fact that they are even racism amonst latin american and caribean(spelling) nations

Just because a person is a minority doesnt mean he/she doesnt have prejudices

shit even gay people have prejudices amounst their own community (against trans, bisexuals, masculine gay men vs feminine gay men, etc)

also alot of the black activist fought for Black Rights not just equal rights

ie; Some Black Panther (not all because there were some who supported the gay movement)

and even within the Black Panther movement there was sexism

LOL! This thread is unbelievably ironic.

Black (as well as other non-white) gay men are still struggling for equal acceptance inside the gay community and you've got the balls to ask why don't Black people support gays?

While I won't bother picking apart the ignorance in the thread post-by-post relating to that fact; it's several reasons...none of which are very good, but:

People in glass houses got no business throwing stones.

so you admit there is no good reason for this prejudice to exist, yet are criticizing the asking of this question? we're all here to improve the situation, not throw rocks.

I'm still holding that jury out on you.

funny that the person who can't make a valid argument uses "jury" in his sentence.

See it isn't just me and a few other people who think so.

when the only people who seem to object happen to be members of the community under criticism, I don't think its unexpected that they be the ones to push back.

I have never been in a situation, where I was a member of two communities, and one was highly opposed to the lifestyle of the other, as you currently find yourselves. but i would be willing to bet if i were in your shoes, i'd dedicate more time in educating the culture that is prejudice as opposed to defending them due to race.
