YAY Baseball!!!!!!!

OK so I know I'm about 5 days late in terms of MLB opening day and what not, but is anyone else excited as I am about baseball starting?!?!?

I can't wait to see my husband Scott Rolen in tight tight pants again!

And screw the AL!! NL rocks!! ;)

Whatchu all got????

(!) (!)

Over the last seven consecutive years, 2000-2006, a different team has won the World Series. I wonder if that'll materialize in 2007 where it would be eight years in a row.

I will be rooting for the Detroit Tigers. There has been history in which the Tigs have gone to the World Series in consecutive seasons. Too bad its four for ten in the World Series. But if it goes this year, I wonder it'll be reunited in yet another of the trendy rematches it has experienced -- a collective seven bouts with two different teams: three with the St. Louis Cardinals, the other four with the NL team I think is the one to watch for, the Chicago Cubs.

I listened to one of the cable sports channels -- either ESPN or FSN -- and, naturally, they're ready to call it for which teams they predict will be the hottest in 2007 MLB season. For the NL, it's New York Mets; with AL, it's Los Angeles Angels.

Last year these same bozos kept making wrong calls for the 2006 MLB season.

Hopefully this will be an exciting year.

The are only Sox and they play in Chicago.

The cubs the team to watch? Only if you like losers.

That was being said about the Tigers. [-X

that would be another loser team, but in fact the actual quote from the post above mine was

the NL team I think is the one to watch for, the Chicago Cubs.

the Tigers will finish 4th this year, by the way behind the Sox, Twins, and Tribe

I won't be doing any predicting. But I like the sound -- or in this case, words -- used by anyone expressing dissent for the New York Yankees.

GO GIANTS!!! How about some love for the boys by the bay huh?DODGERS! Who are the DODGERS? Who are the PADRES? Who are the DIAMONDBACKS? Who are the ROCKIES? LOL We all know Barry Bonds is a hog with the bat, juiced or not! haha Barry Zito is definately a hottie.

OK I'm sorry I have to bump this thread about baseball...And give sonny shit about liking the Mets...again ;) (*8*)

My Cards are doing so shitty it's not funny. I don't think we've been in last place this far into the season in about 6 or 7 years. It's depressing.

How are your teams doing? (I know, but I like baseball discussion. Please continue!)

Please note that my beloved Dodgers are in first place at 17-12!!! (!) :gogirl: (!)

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Actually, the Cards go on a road trip next week to San Diego and LA. We'll see how well you dance after that.

:p

The Dodgers will KICK BIRD ASS!!! (!) :gogirl: (!) :gogirl: (!)

I'm gonna break your dancin' knees.

LOL actually no, I couldn't do that. Well, if I see you at the Ravine I might...

GO CARDS!! And when you say BIRD you aren't playing the Orioles babe!!

:p

God I love baseball....I'm sorry I bumped this thread everyone, but I hope it'll become a gauge of how all your teams are doing throughout the season...

And duh, discussion of hot guys are always welcome, but I like discussion of baseball more than life!

:=D:

I'm glad you bumped, we need to keep this going.
So sorry about your birds, I guess it must be damp and cold down there in that basement:twisted: Maybe I can get some of the Mets to come down from First place and give em one of these:p :p :p

It IS cold and damp in the basement! I'm not used to this like the Mets are! (Ok, before this year and last.)

Seriously, could you have David Wright come down and give :p to Scott Rolen? I mean I would cum in my tracks seeing it, but Scott needs to pull his head outta his ass and DO something. 0-17 I think! :grrr:

Sorry dude, I keep David Wright pretty busy:sex: ;)
The two boys are damn good 3rd baseman, Offensivly David is doing a bit better at around .290 with Rolen hitting about .220 I think a lot of Rolen's problem comes from the lack of support he gets from LaRussa.
LaRussa is not communicating and working with Rolen as he should, still holding a grudge cause Rolen ignored advice from La Russa and the team's medical staff. Rolen insisted on playing despite being hampered by soreness in his surgically repaired left shoulder, and he slumped in September. At least that was the start of the problem with the two boys.
Rolen began the playoffs 1-15 and La Russa benched him.
LaRussa needs advice from Willie Randolph on how to get the most out of his players.
I think Rolen will come around, don't give up on him like LaRussa has.;)

HEY! You guys won yesterday!

I KNOW right?!? I forgot what that feels like!!

The whole LaRussa-Rolen feud should be put to rest already. I thought it was done over the winter. If not, they should just kiss and make up already - there's baseball to be played bitches. And if Rolen is "slumping" because of lack of support from LaRussa, he needs to grow a set and just hit the damn ball! Rolen did hit a slump, but then did phenomenal in the World Series last year (how's Carlos doing? still staring? :p ) which is when it really counted.

And advice from Willie Randolph? pffft. I'd rather listen to paint dry.

;) (*8*)

According to LaRussa it's over, trouble is he says that to everyone but Rolen.
When you say Carlos I assume you mean Delgato and not Beltron.
Beltron is hitting better than .300 these days but Delgato who was .196 last night is another story, I dono what's up with him. But that's baseball slumps come and go and they all have em.
As for Willie, come on now, most will say he is one of the best managers in the game today. He is a great communicater and knows how to get the best out of his guys. Willie is always there with a pat on the back when they do well and a word of advice and encouragement when they don't.
LaRussa could learn something about people skills from Willie(*8*)
I was sorry to hear about Carpenter who will be out for 3 months, I hate to see guys out so early in the season. Of course the Hancock story is just tragic.
Oh by the way in case you miissed it, the Mets beat the D'Backs again last night.
Today they go for the sweep of the 4 games. Dodgers beat the Braves so we are still in first place. I'm just sayin:p
