I agree with Randy we know he can beatbox it doesn't have to be ever present. It's just stupid to do ALL the time. It's a preference thing and you want to get as wide an audience as possible. What happened to the Blake who said in the top 24(? whatever the highest number is) that he wasn't gonna beat box that much because it was a singing competition. Boy you can sing... please do it.

I was a bit annoyed with the overuse of Blake's beatboxing. He's good at it and I realize it's his style, but he doesn't have to make every song all about it. It's got to be difficult to select a song and make arrangements in the course of a week...trying to take in advice/criticisms of the judges, voice coaches, media, fellow contestants, guest celebrities, etc... everybody hyping it up I imagine would get confusing. Difficult to step back and get perspective. I would have liked to have heard him sing one song straight through last night without it. (no biggie though)

As talented as I think Lakisha and Melinda are...probably technically the best singers in the competition...I really don't think that either are as marketable as Jordin and Blake are. IMO, the later have a fresher and more contemporary sound/style, more personality and charisma, and will have a broader appeal to the younger demographic ...those who are buying the music...going to concerts etc... The show is watched by young, old and in between...all voting...but not all spending their money. Most, I think (like me), are just watching for entertainment purposes...then just wait for next season to do it all over again.

No, I still think it will be Lakisha going home (unless Nigel holds a press conference about a "shocking" elimination.) Melinda will then get a lot of Lakisha's votes, but not enough to make it into the finals. Then all the "Diva" votes will go to Jordin. But I can't really make myself care whether Jordin or Blake wins. I love Melinda, but none of the final 4 have the WOW factor.

I doubt Blake will go next week even with the performances he gave. I see LaKisha being gone next and then Blake, if his performances dont improve any.

But you could sing any Gibb song, not just the disco ones. Blake should get the most votes from Chris and Phil's old voting blocks, makes sense? LaKisha never listens to the rehearsal suggestions from the coaches, shouts too much and has been in the Bottom 2 or 3 more than anyone left. She goes tonight.

Next week is judges choice, singers choice and Clive's choice so the themes are finally done.

I really don't like how they force the contestants to sing songs by certain artists. I think they should just give them more freedom. The whole bee-gees thing just didn't work IMO.

I'm already beginning to mentally prepare myself because I have a feeling Blake might go home tonight......

Oh well, really. Honestly, he's gotten so much exposure that he really doesn't need the show anymore. Look at Daughtry-he was far from the winner yet he already has two hit singles and a #1 album.

Like I've said, Blake is a breath of fresh air. I'm a big fan of the same music he likes and tries to incorporate into his performances on the show. I hope he'll get a deal soon and put out some great music because I know he'll do really great once the show is over.

So if he leaves tonight, then it's no real biggie now that he got this far in the competition.

I can see the convenience of making an artist's entire catalogue available from a copywriting issue but shouldn't the biggest show in primetime be able to do better?

Song selection was what made the evening weak, most of the performers knew little about their pre-SNF songbook.
