THAT WAS THE MOST WRONG DESCISION IN THE HISTORY OF AMERICAN IDOL. What the HELL are americans thinking? They're all brain-dead. I had very little respect for AI before tonight, i have none after.

Did anyone catch right after Elliot Yamin performed and Ryan goes...coming up Melinda goes home and they showed a quick glance at her face

I think she took that as her going home from the competition, which she did but he meant they were going to play the clip of her visit home.

Not surprised.. Blake wasn't going anywhere, it was simple as that. They were not going to have two women who are minorities(Jordin father is black in this finale). Melinda just didn't appeal to the young white folk...

I'm not surprised at all.. Look how long CHRIS RICHARDSON lasted in this competition, you know who the voting audience was in this competition.. PATHETIC!!

This is not about race.. I'm just being realistic.

Wow...I never noticed that.

Melinda getting kicked off is only somewhat surprising for me. I thought her rendition of that Whitney Houston song was horrible - her worst. She has a good voice but she is not a Whitney. Two completely different voices: one can scream/belt and the other has a deep sultry R&B voice. I also believe many people thought she was save and would sail through to the finals. She was the most consistent contestant in AI history. Blake was in the bottom 2 last week so his fans probably voted a lot to keep him out of there this week. There are also two black female R&B singers with good voices so they split that vote. Blake is the only one who's different musically.

Personally, I think Jordin should have gone home.

In the third season, two young minority women were in the top 2: Fantasia and Diana.

Dammit! And I missed it tonight. I was doing NOTHING but I forgot...I can't believe she went home. I definitely voted for her. There is truly something wrong with America is someone with that voice is going home and Blake is staying.

I hope TO GOD Jordin wins. Her voice is nice although Melinda and Lakisha have even better ones.

What a HUGE disappointment. v_v

What a shocker. Melinda and Jordin really should have battled it out in the final.

But America votes and the girls of all ages love them some Blake not to mention the gay vote, so when you factor that in its not such a shock.

But Randy said it best last night, "if it is just about the singing Melonda and Jordin should be in the final"

You guys realize that Blake can actually win right?

Jordin better bring it next week.

Jordin has been my pick since a few weeks ago.

I would personally like to see the paper trail for the votes. This reeks of the 2000 election. Oh yeah, it's on FOX what more should I expect?
