Araucaria Appreciation Thread

I'm canceling my visit.

(as you gasp at the thought of an uninvited guest.)

Hope you feel OK and get through this with minimal troubles.

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me... :=D:

That's OK, Thad. You can wait another week or so, to make sure I've got this thing licked.

Well, the Rx's the walk-in clinic gave me on Sunday have really knocked all those nasty symptoms down. I felt good enough that I probably would have gone to coffee clatch put on by the local LGBTQ+ community center, if in fact I didn't know I had Covid. Lots of older folks go to that, and with all the health issues in the room, that could put them at risk for worse outcomes. No, I don't need to turn a meeting of 30 or 40 people into a superspreader event. That just wouldn't be cool. [-X

All in all, it's not too bad. Almost like being on vacation, except I can't go anywhere.

Not taking any chances
mask.jpg Good afternoon, John.

The heat continues, hit 84 yesterday. Looks like the same for today.

Haven't felt like doing anything since the flu. Things are building up from washing dishes to folding and putting away the laundry. Got to get off my PB230014.JPG
and get some things done today. Right now, I'll call for an appointment at the barber before I am not able to see.

Hello Johnnie I hope you have enjoyed your BIrthday
Keep on enjoying the whole Aquarius Season , Full Moon will be pretty soon

(UU)(UU)

Good Thursday morning RM, Frankie, Gary, and Andrew! (*8*)

Thanks everybody for the birthday wishes. :luv2:

Gary, it looks like you're getting some nice warm weather. The weather here is now very consistent, with the temps at the airport consistently hitting exactly 81 degrees every day in February so far. The high humidity is back, though, so it feels a little sticky in the afternoons. Hope you were able to get off your ass and get your chores done.

Covid update. I'm feeling pretty good this morning, and I've been a good little boy, taking my medicine as directed. I'm getting calls and texts of support from my friends. In fact, one friend left a Covid test kit on my front doorstep yesterday. Right now I'll probably take the test on Saturday morning. If it comes back negative and my symptoms are gone by then, I'll probably go to the local genealogical society meeting on Saturday afternoon, and the MCC church service on Sunday morning. I think I'm going to skip my volunteer work at the genealogical society library tomorrow, since I had a nagging cough yesterday afternoon, and besides, hardly anybody shows up usually on Friday. It'll be too soon.

Hi Johnnie thanks for writing
I hope you get over your respiratory health issues , drink plenty of hot orange juice and sleep well
Take care buddy

Good evening, John. I hope you're feeling ok and your test turns out negative (*8*)
Enjoy the weekend as much as you can

Good Sunday morning, Frankie and Paul! (*8*)

My Covid test came back negative yesterday morning, so I can go out and do things again. (!) I went to the genealogical society meeting yesterday, though I did wear a mask, just in case. I plan to go to MCC today with the mask on. Generally I feel fine, though I'm not going to do anything too involved or strenuous, since I'm usually a bit weak for a couple of days after recovering from an illness.

(*8*) Good morning, John

Glad to hear bat fever was flown away. Hope you have no long team effects.

After church I will settle in for the Super Bowl.

GO KC!!!

Hi! Hope your Valentines Day was spent with some kind of flowers or candy. I did have some chocolate that came from Germany...yeah, I bought it myself. But yum.

And I went to a concert Thursday, with these artists, who performed this song. (The video is from a previous show in North Carolina.)

Good Saturday morning Thad, RM, and Gary! (*8*)

Thad, good to see Flamy Grant and Jennifer Knapp performing. There are a number of gay Christian artists out there, some of them would perform at MCCs around the country. I believe Jason and DeMarco are still touring, and I saw Marsha Stevens a few times, but I don't know if she's still active.

RM, I'd love to have some fun with those two guys in the pic you posted. *|*:bj::69::sex::3way:

Gary, I'm sorry the Chiefs didn't win the Super Bowl. I hope you didn't get too upset over it. :therethere:

Well, I didn't have much in the way of flowers and candy yesterday, but suddenly my tree is bearing guavas like crazy, they're getting ripe faster than I can eat them. One guava has more Vitamin C than a whole orange. I had a papaya earlier this month, and it looks like another fruit is just about ripe. It's about the size of a large cantaloupe. And well, yes, my amaryllis are blooming, so I do have flowers. Thad, I'm glad you treated yourself to some German chocolates. Sometimes we have to show love to ourselves. There was an older gay man who lived alone, at a place I used to work, who would order flower arrangements for himself to be delivered at the workplace.

Hello Johnnie , thanks for writing
I hope you have an enjoyable sunday

Yea blueberries are being lately being produced in big amounts and being sent abroad
I hope you enjoy your Guavas Soon buddy

Thanks for writing

Hi John!

I was in NYC Wednesday for a taping of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. it was at the Ed Sullivan Theater on Broadway. Lovely place, but the show was lackluster with a boring Robert DeNiro. The saving grace was Tamara Tunie from Law and Order: SVU. She's starring in a new CBS soap opera, Beyond the Gates, which debuts next week. It's the first new soap opera in over 20 years

I did have dinner afterwards, but went directly home. No NY bar carousing this trip...but I'm going back on Tuesday for Tamron Hall's show.

Are you set for a non-football weekend?

Good Saturday afternoon, Thad and Frankie! (*8*)

Thad, it's interesting that you can just go to New York on the train or whatever to be in the live audiences of shows like Stephen Colbert and Tamron Hall on short notice. We usually don't have that many opportunities here in Florida (and no, the Orange Menace doesn't count!).

Frankie, I hope you're doing well.

Actually, I don't have a lot to report this week. I did go to another concert in the other band my friend is in, and I enjoyed it, but again, what is it with playing all this patriotic music in concerts where that supposedly isn't the theme?

Hello Johnnie , Thanks again for writing
Take lots of care
my life's been uneventful lately as well

I hope we have a pleasant new week later buddy
