I've gone from loving her to "can put up with and still watch" her........but her "stop eating meat" campaign may put me over the the edge.

I hate it when ANY celebrity uses their celebrity to foster their own agenda and their fans jump on the bandwagon.......seemingly having no minds of their own which, sadly, might be the case.

Did Ellen hurt Idol?

I've never watched it. There just seemed to be too much meanness involved. I assumed Ellen's role was to be the "good guy" and the reason Idol didn't do well was because the singers just weren't up to par.

I can't help but feel this is probably pure homophobia but maybe Ellen didn't do a good job?

I thought Ellen was actually pretty cool. She was funny. The show lacks funny past the audition stage. But this year didn't have any good singers. The lack of vocal talent was why I stopped watching this season.

FOX needs to lay American Idol to rest. It was once *the* show to watch, worthy of anticipation. Now, I don't even tune in for the auditions. The show has reached its expiration date. It's being on since 2003, 7 years! It's old, played out, ran into the ground.

It has lost its luster, charm, and talent. I think the show jumped the shark when Taylor Hicks won and drowned when Sanjaya lasted WAY too long. Voting is completely fucked up (excuse my French). Vote for the Worst and idiotic fangirls make bad people stay and good people go home. The contestants in recent seasons weren't that talented either.

I didn't watch this season, but I never understood why a comedian was judging a singing competition. I could understand if she was judging Top Chef because it doesn't take talent to know good food, but American Idol? It's like having Tyra judge So You Think You Can Dance. It's completely out of her element.

Given that popular contestants were gay, there can be no reasonable claim that Ellen being a lesbian hurt ratings.

But anyone who brings an end to Idol would be more heroic in my eyes.
