HBO's new show "Looking" starring Jonathan Groff

The last episode was kinda slow and cheesy at times, but still fun to watch. I think I´ll give this show a go!

I agree that 30 minutes is not enough for this show. At the last 5 minutes it starts to pick up and then it ends and its over. This show should have been an hour long show.

So far I am enjoying the show, even though it is slow going. I hope this show lasts.

@instinctmag: .@HBO's #Looking Promises A Sex Scene Everyone Will Be Talking About! Get ready! @LookingHBO http://t.co/A7UstHcU4U http://t.co/Z7EUZ0qm2r

We've already been faithfully tuning in to HBO's Looking since its January premiere, but from what we hear the Sunday, Feb. 16 episode may be the one to watch for those that are looking for more sensational sex scenes!

E! Online's Marc Malkin reports:

HBO's new dramedy Looking is about to get, um, explosive.

We're not giving you all the details, but if you watch the new episode on Sunday, you'll see Jonathan Groff giving some major O-face during an eye-popping sex scene with Raúl Castillo.

.....

"You can't lie in those scenes," Groff told me at the Savannah College Art and Design's aTVfest. "You can't fake those scenes."

Hmm...Jonathan Groff and Raúl Castillo? O-Face?

Is it Sunday yet??!

Groff continues:

"The great thing about me and Raúl is that we both come from the theater," Groff said. "We're both very comfortable with our bodies, very comfortable with each other, [we were] very comfortable being naked together from the beginning. That builds a lot of trust. We built a lot of trust between us so you could really go there and we totally went there in that scene."

Their straight female director of photography, Reed Morano, was very impressed.

"She was in the bed with us," Gorff said. "We were in bed and there she was in bed capturing what was happening…She said, 'This is the hottest sex scene I've ever experienced shooting.'"

On finding his O-face, Groff cracked, "It took years of practice."

Welp. We'll be watching (or Looking)! Will you??

(And as for how hot that sex scene is, we'll be the judge of that, Reed!)

...that's the most interesting thing about the show so far? The promise of an o-face?

I need to watch the first few episodes, see if that's a plus or a minus.

So, I sat down and watched the first four episodes at dinner, and I can't think of many, if any redeeming qualities. If this is what Sex and the City was, I am glad I didn't watch a single episode. So, going down the line:

-The pacing, as stated, is odd - slow, and shoddy. I didn't come into this looking for a Sons Of Anarchy or another Oz, but even Noahs Arc (when it was good) knew how to get things going. Plus, a half hour show isn't enough - you don't learn much of the characters... there's no room to stand out because there isn't room to build. Hell, I don't even know many of the guys' names(Dom is the exception), and that's saying a LOT when in the first episode of QAF you at LEAST knew Micheal and Brian.

-My fear was confirmed - another upper-crust nearly diversity lacking gay show. Maybe one day they'll do a gay show in another hub, like, say, Atlanta, where you TRULY get a mix of the gay classes. When they do Cali, they only do Castro and West Hollywood and the palm trees and "the life"... or at least the life according to Hollywood.

-The main character is a very odd combination of a naive follower, the new boy on the block, and overcompensating for what he clearly doesn't have. He wants a relationship BADLY, he wants to fuck IMMEDIATELY, he's awkward to the point of being endearing, but then he crosses that point and scares people off, wonders why, and repeats his same mistakes. And that's all I've gotten so far from him - well, other than he's got the job I want. So that's the second TV show where someone is working my dream job... and I don't care for either one of them(the other is Dads).

-On the opposite end, I kind of dig the "mustache daddy" Dom, but for the life of me I don't know why other than he seems to be both strong and goofy. He's definitely a sex fiend and is certainly trying to find his way, obviously still getting over last bf, but other than that, he's murky, as are the couple, who don't warrant a footnote(the artist and his bf...).

All that said... I don't think I will tune in to this until they start fixing some of this mess they've created.

I'm enjoying tonight's episode to be honest...it's nice to have a focused 1/2 hour of just the 2 characters.

The show seems just "ok" to me so far but I am falling in love with Raul Castillo's character Richie :-). So far he is the most interesting character to me. Seeing a hot hispanic guy who is versatile, catholic, and can play bass guitar gave me an instant hard-on. Anyone know if he is gay in real life? I think there is a LOT more to develop from his storyline and I cannot wait to see!

Anybody else have thoughts on Richie?

I enjoy his character as well...but hate the preview for next week when Augustine(?) calls Patrick out for "slumming it"...if anyone is slumming it it's his hot, British(well in real life) boyfriend slumming it with him.

According to this article...

...he's straight. I could have sworn I read he was openly gay a few weeks ago, but I can't find the article. Maybe it was just wishful thinking.

I watched all 4 episodes yesterday then episode 5 last night. I enjoy the show. I'm older so it is enjoyable to watch what gay guys lives are like now in comparison to what it was like in the early 80's when I was 20 something. Like last nights episode when Ritchie and Patrick are walking along the beach holding hands, back then it was highly unlikely you would see that in public. I think some are reading too much into this. It is just a TV show about 3 homo guys and their friends and relationships. Period. It may not be like your life, and it is certainly nothing like my life now but it's fun to watch. When I was the age of most of you guys, we had nothing like this on TV or anywhere else for that matter. I agree it probably won't get past one season but at least it got that far and that is a good thing.

i liked this episode the best so far.

it looks like its only 7 episodes? thats what i see from imbd, rob castillo is only 7 so dont get too attached to him yet

I'm basically hate-watching at this point and I can't even do that with Glee anymore it just sucks too much.

I just get the feeling that the "finale" will be an intercourse scene where get some D&A which will be received with a "meh".

The first season is only eight episodes.

The last episode was awesome, really simple yet entertaining! I like this show a lot so far :D

Damn! Well I hope he appears in something else soon! I've never been more attracted to a character/actor before until this show. lol maybe I just need a boyfriend #-o

@checkinthingsout, no you don't. trust me being single is a good thing.

so I watched the remaining episodes and I have to say I wasted my time. No offense again, it's just not my show. I just wish they would show more struggles of the lgbt community such as racism, homelessness, more HIV/AIDS discussion, more diversity, actually have american actors if it's an american production, and anything else that I miss that whenever a gay drama pop ups every so often they forget to cover.

I just can't get over how stupid that main character white boy is. He's so desperate for dick he's making ignorant decisions. I don't like how the black guy is super super super light skinned and he's all muscular and dominating. I don't like how being that the show is thirty minutes, they can't make the most of that time. I don't like how the only character I kinda like, the reno 911 looking mustache guy, hardly ever gets screentime and his storyline is never concluded.

bah that's it. I'm done.

You want diversity, yet you want Americans because everything takes place in America. Am I the only one who sees what you wrote?

And this is NOT a show about racism, homelessness and more HIV/AIDS discussion, it´s about the lives of a small group of friends. I really don´t get the ¨I expected this and that¨ that everyone has to say about everything, not just this show. Serious matters should be done in a serious way, that´s why you have documentaries. There was a thread on Hot Topics about the gay haunting in Russia, no one gave a shit about it, except a few people here. This show is entertainment and that´s it.

^^^ right on man..

can i get a show thats just simple and not always about trying to represent some kind of moral teaching

i am tired of most gay shows with stereotypes, gays always dieing of diseases

i am begining to LIKE LOOKING

its picking up for me
