Re: If you ever say you are "straight acting" that is a copout

Are we STILL at it?

(every time you try to kill this bitch...)

Them's not jabs, them's props, anyone who can sustain a knicker twist this epic deserves 'spect from the sisterhood.

(picture the raised fist)

I'm WITH YA SYSTERWOMYN! SOLIDARITY!

I might rename myself Mary and start doing Mitchy Drag.

Why do I call him Mary? Because I forgot about Nancy! HA! Actually it's because he claims to be a brah and shit and has pretty much been having drama queen spectacular for days.

I find the irony juicy and delicious.

Plus we've all pretty much said what was said and are just vomiting up the same crap over and over...

There comes a point in the life of every thread where it becomes theater of the absurd. No one is saying anything new, the fur has flown, the tops have been blown, the panties have been bunched, the cats have fought - and all that's left is to have a good laugh.

I bet we can get the Space Gypsy to do it.

Umm...you forgot about Helen too...that's my personal favorite..|

Anyone with a strong view is now a "woman" having a "hissy fit" or "drama queen spectacular."

Hope those sunbathing walruses don't hear you talk like this. ;)

Ya don't mess with the walruses - they'd kick your ass! NO, it's possible to have strong opinions without the dudgeon flying like glitter at a Drag Show!

trust me almost all my sister's friends in college were active campus lesbians... I know better. Something about them just implied they could end me.

Some of you might be. I'm busy - I have an interview to prepare for.

Lemme see a photo. I get right of refusal on my interviewers.

Lex

I SECOND! We need to see another pic of the Space Gypsy's full moon, just for evaluation purposes of course.

Ohhhhh this thread desperately needs some Buddy Cole.... (had forgotten all about Kids in the hall, because they're CANADIAN!!! LOL)

¨OMG don´t use ¨straight acting¨, I´m offended¨ *goes crossdressing while listening to the latest Cher album*

Lol, was that supposed to be a caricature?

Because listening to Cher and crossdressing (it's called drag, honey) are totally disgusting and super exclusively gay.

Oh wait - the whole world listens to Cher and there are straight drag queens. I guess they are gay acting. Oops.

Details? Is it because you think straight-acting means a gay guy who claims to be straight? Because its not this, at all. frankfrank already explained it very well.

There is no point to use straight because whatever behaviors you are exhibiting isnt exclusive to straight men.

Try telling that to the like of Rolyo who seem to think the gay community are being hurt by it. How is that even possible when the majority don't even find it offensive?

And some of those who are not ok have done exactly the same thing. Tx-beau found it ironic to refer to me with girly names, because what? I'm gay? That's homophobic. And Rolyo has no qualms being anti masculine, heterophobic, frequently using the term 'breeders' in various threads.

Hypocrisy is astounding here.

Breeders love being called breeders. Fact of life. Deal with it.

"I got nothing against straight people. Some of my best friends are straight" ^_^

Aaaaand, where was I anti masculine again? I am masculine myself. I have to wear a rainbow bracelet just so people don't think I'm straight.

This is one of those opportunities where it'd be real easy for someone to discredit your comments and sweep them all away with a "No shit, Sherlock, I hope you haven't been waiting around for a zip code."

But, here's a little tip for you; it's going to be real hard for people to have any respect for your political/sociological views once you've convinced them that you don't understand Community Demographics. You'll probably want to avoid the CE&P forum.

Then again, if you tell us that you do understand Community Demographics, we'll have no other choice but to believe that you were/are just practicing your Psychological Manipulation skills - - - which, of course, would expose you for someone who thinks being a manipulative liar is cool . . . a good thing . . . a character flaw to be honed . . .

I guess there really is no way for you to walk away from this one looking pretty. :( Bummer.

Yeah, I was kinda astounded by that claim, but I figured it's not worth an entirely different fight. Now that I think about it, maybe it is, I might post a new topic...

I am not easily offended. It seems to me the people who were initially offended by anything was the people who refer to themselves as straight acting.

If it you didn't think of it as a stereotype you would have not made the comment, cause apparently people who don't like it are effeminate. Do you make fun of other gay people with your straight buds? I heard that is a good time.

I wasn't offended either. I think it's more harmful than offensive really. The first ones who threw a hissy fit were definitely not us.

And I stand by your second comment.

Because there is an ongoing assumption and assertion here that we do share more and should, according to those posters. I've never seen straight people assume they were like the rest of straight people in politics, culture, music, art, etc.

Often a JUBBER will claim some singer is "our" singer, some athlete is one of "us." Just as often, gays who are undesirable for whatever reason to some poster will be discredited as not really gay because of whatever criteria that JUBBER has created in his mind for the "community."

That's why.

I am sorry, I might be misunderstanding here, but I thought, for a moment, that you were comparing a majority's self-awareness and identity with a minority's self-awareness and identity. Straight people have their own groups. They are not a community. They don't have to share certain values because "straight" is no more a "group" than "human" is. Minorities on the other hand DO need to be a little tighter due to their inferior role in society. Black people are not more similar to each other than gay people are, yet they do share values and as a whole are a lot less prone to try to distance themselves from black culture.

But this is really going into a completely different topic.
