Well let's see how banged up all the teams are at playoff time. He may get a chance to shine then.

Aaron Rodgers, Manti Te'O, and Kerry Rhodes have padlocked and barricaded the closet door.
1. The Rams starting defense ends include one of the best in the league and a former first round pick (Sam was 7th round).
2. The backups that made the team are more versatile (can play other positions) and larger than Sam is (scouts had said his smaller size would be a disadvantage).
Sam may still have a place in the NFL, but the Rams were not the right place.
I'm curious how he ended up being considered by the Rams in the first place, because they obviously had that position amply spoken for during the draft, already. Not being a big football fan, though, I know little to nothing about the winnowing process getting down to the 53-player roster, or how many more than 53 they begin with.People will say this just a football decision BUT we live in a very prejudiced homophobic work.I feel bad for Michael Sam I know he is disappointed about not making the team.
Michael Sam is flying into Dallas on Tuesday night and will take a physical for the Cowboys on Wednesday, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
If Sam passes his physical, the Cowboys intend to sign him to their practice squad, the source said.

That's the million dollar question.
We may never get the answer. It's kinda fifty/fifty on whether not he was drafted so low because he was gay, if he was drafted so low because of his combine, or if he was drafted because he said he was gay.
I think it's a bit of everything. There have been a few coaches who said point blank period no because he's LGBT. And handful that were apprehensive and just said he was a "distraction". I think the NFL still is scared of the negative press of not giving him a chance so idk.
He really needs to just transfer to Canadian league. America isn't ready and I sadly agree as an American.

The message this sends is "stay your faggot ass in the closet!".
It doesn't matter what profession you're a part of; being GAY in the workplace will always place you at a disadvantage.
Rememba this?

I've been arguing with bitches all across the world wide interwebz about Michael Sam's release, and it shocks me just how dismissive people can be when you place facts right in front of their eyes. Even gays who admit to not being sports fans were yelling and screaming about "it being a football decision" and NOT homophobia.
Bitch what?![]()
I'm still sitting in my office. Just heard this on my radio. Texas Cowboys just picked up Michael Sam.

I'm real tired of hearing what a "distraction" Sam might be. A Jerry Jones team, and you think Michael Sam is a distraction? As the great Jimmy Johnson would say: "Please!"
We still don't know if Michael Sam can play in the NFL, but if Sam can't play for this Cowboys defense, he might want to find another line of work.
He simply wants a chance. The Cowboys are giving him that chance — nothing more, nothing less.
Cuts are a necessary and normal part of the game.....every team has to get the roster down to 53. It is not at all unusual for a last round draft pick to be cut.

It would have been worse if they kept him on the final roster BECAUSE he is gay. They treated him like they would treat all the rest of the players. THAT is a good thing.
He has been picked up...that is also a good thing.
