I tend to think there is a little truth to all our opinions. I don't think it's just one factor that causes the changes I've wondered about. I think it's a number of factors.

My opinion is however that covering up the Coppertone Girl isn't going to magically cure all the pedophiles out there. lol. I had to throw that in there. I just think it is a shame that politically correct people and radicals out there want to make a classic logo into a dirty thing by censoring it. They are the ones bringing attention and shame to the Coppertone Girl's former nudity by doing that when before no one probably gave it a second thought.
 
^ You don't seem to get it. Back when the Coppertone logo was first revealed (there was actually an animated cartoon advertisement with the dog actually pulling down the suit), it was considered 'cute'. These days, with the changing attitudes toward sexualising females, even an animated little girl, to sell a product is frowned upon. The logo is no longer 'cute'. There are all sorts of wrong about it, the least of which is paedophilia. It's simply not acceptable these days.
 
The U.S. compared to Europe is much more against nudity. The U.S. thinks nudity and sexuality are one and the same but that is not always the case. Europe is not like that. I think religion and Judeo-Christian values plays a factor in a lot of this in the U.S. I once told a religious woman that Adam and Eve were naked but she replied that God had them clothed and garmented after Eve ate the apple. I think now that I should have replied that it wasn't God that required them to be clothed. They asked to be clothed because they felt ashamed. There have been some theories out there that making nudity a taboo thing has actually created a lot of voyeurs and perverts and peeping toms. Nudists and others have said if someone saw nudity everyday they'd be desensitized to it and it wouldn't be a sexual stimulant as much.

There you go making assumptions about me which aren't true and calling me names. Apparently you are hung up on looking at porn since you are on a porn site. There, I made an assumption about you. How does that feel? Did I ever say ban or outlaw partitions? Hell no! I was just wondering when, how, and why it started and if the presence of more gays coming out the closet made straight men more nervous about possibly being checked out. It's more psychology/sociology/culture/history/sexual orientation subject more than it is about sexuality in the sex sense. And we accuse some straights of being narrow minded, judgmental, quick to stereotype, and make assumptions about us so let's not be that way about ourselves okay. I'm going to make a psychological guess that you are in your 20s somewhere because of the sharp reaction and being defensive about privacy.
 
I've already explained my reasons for posting the topic numerous times so apparently many are ignorant of the reason I posted it, or they don't believe my explanation, don't want to believe my explanation, or think I am lying to myself. Oh well! It's not like I should feel I should have to prove being a good and classy person to everyone. I'm not breaking any laws or attempting to. People are entitled to their opinions and opinions are like assholes, everyone has one, and some stink. Whatever I get judged for I'm sure there are many on this site that have some weird interest or fetishes that I wouldn't dream about. I'm going to make an assumption, something I got on to others about, but more a guess, that the gay guys that are skittish about being check out are probably twinks on the more femme spectrum because in real life they are a lot like straight women in some of their mentality.

And most of all what room does anyone have to judge me when they are on a porn site themselves so I really shouldn't bother even defending myself for I'm sure many of them have a lot of skeletons in their closeted closets. lol.

Nowhere did I get angry or irrationally angry about anyone's modesty. I was curious what caused the change in men, yes, but angry, I have no idea where you are getting that from.

Also, it could be society conditioning males to be more modest. Modesty is taught from a young age. I'm sure most men didn't call for more partitions to be designed. Some designer came up with that I'm sure. I see you are from New Zealand. I'm from the U.S.

I see that you are bi. I feel for you man! If I had a choice which I don't I'd stay the same way and be a gay man. I'd feel my life would be much more complicated if I liked women as well as men. I know you didn't choose that either. I like men so much I can't imagine liking women too in a sexual way but I'm sure that straight guys feel that way about us liking men and wonder why we'd like men so much when they like women so much. I knew a woman once that said she could understand how there are people born gay but asked how can a person like both sexes. Ironically she has a son that is bi and she never found out to my knowledge. But people can like both sexes to the same or different degrees the same way people like the same gender or opposite gender.
 
I've met some bisexuals that feel sexual orientation is a choice I guess because they seem to have a choice in what gender they have sex with or date but I can assure bi people gay and straights didn't choose their sexual orientation. I do often wonder if "straight" people that sincerely believe being gay is a choice are not bisexual themselves since they have the option of choosing and feel everyone else has the same sexual feelings they do. I can see where some people who assume they are straight but are actually bi may run into that confusion. I can see where they'd make an innocent mistake like that in their minds. I've also received rude comments from bi men saying that pussy was so good and they didn't understand why I wouldn't expand my horizons and do women too. Maybe because I don't like pussy!
