^ Maybe Grindr didn't crash ..but there was gay presence at downtown Las Vegas's rally.
And, dammit, missed opportunity...people would have bought T-shirts and flags!

^ I think that the libs probably had no problem with their cruising and pick-ups.

Unlike the closeted Republicans.

Another No Kings Rally this weekend.

They estimate that there will be nearly 3,000 protests across America.

I was at the October rally in downtown Las Vegas. But I'm home in Southeastern Pennsylvania now and have a variety of rallies to choose from.
The big one in Philadelphia? Probably too crowded for me.
A little one in Havertown? Probably too small for me.
The one at our county seat in Media? Maybe.
The one in leftie-liberal Swarthmore, near the rainbow crosswalks? Perhaps.
The one in Ardmore? I could check out the newly remodeled train station too. This is my "probably."

You’re sounding a bit like Goldilocks there, not wanting to go to the rally that’s too big or too small, but the one that’s just right.

I would want to go to the ones that have tumbrels at this point if I lived in the US.

Never went to any of the previous ones, & don't plan on going to any of the upcoming ones.

Though that said....Just by chance, I drove past a small one a month ago. At first when I saw people on the street-corners waving signs, I was like what are they hawking now (figuring it was for some dumb sale in one of the nearby shoppingcenters, then getting closer I saw the "no kings" text on one.)
And this Sat there's a meetup for a hobby-related group I might go to... I think one of the no kings protest at one of the intersections along the road I'd be taking.
So might end up driving past one. I won't be stopping/joining. But i might honk or wave in support as people commonly do.

:D

I hear his list and think it is just an embarrassment of riches. Have to admit, I have used similar logic myself in the last rally, and chose to go to the small town 20 miles west of Huntsville, and enjoyed it because it wasn't such a logistical pain.

My inkling for Saturday is the same. The one here in town will be downtown at a park where access is poor.

That, and Thad is known for his love of travel, so lucky him, combining two goals into one run.

I'm also worried that the rallies are not violent enough. They really push peaceful protest as a mantra, and it's not the best way to send the signal that we are at crisis point. If starting war is not motivation for violently opposing your government's corruption, what is? The nation is just too complacent, hence Trump's reign.

There need to be some buildings burnt down at this point.

I just think the logo is too tame, too lame, and too archaic. It also stops short of damning the entire gang of criminals running the cabinet departments.

The military is also being given a pass. They're conducting illegal wars, murdering folks on boats in the Carribbean, and eagerly ramping up the military-industrial complex to swell with bloat to suppor this madness.

We are well past the time when just showing up as the folks who didn't vote for Trump is meaningful.

The GOP caucus is still supporting the war, and Trump's agenda. It isn't reading the protests as some sign they are in peril. Essentially, the rallies are as effective as standing in a field and screaming.

We should be acting up, interrupting government and industry.

"Kumbaya" and "Someone's crying, Lord" are just not cutting it.

The No King promotional materials are calling out the Republicans for their October, 2025 appearances on right wing news shows. In advance of the Oct, 2025 No Kings Rally, the Republicans were out and about predicting death and destruction in the streets. The Republicans were sent out to paint an apocalyptic vision of [black] people burning down America with violent protests. Of course, no such thing happened but the same right wing media channels didn't bother to correct the record.

This time around, the Republicans have been told to not bring up the March, 2026 rally. They want right wing media to ignore the protests and pretend like they aren't happening.

No Kings' promotional media is predicting record crowds of peaceful protesters and they are saying that Republicans are burying their head in the sand, pretending that Trump is not unpopular, the war is not unpopular, ICE is not unpopular, and pretending that the Republicans aren't going to get their assess handed to them in November.
