What I don't get is why are you acting as if you're on a quest to give the OP shit for stating something he observed online. Sure, his experiment may not have been professional and done in a relatively small sample area--but it IS still very telling.

And don't forget--he, as well as myself have personal experience to speak from. So, even if he hadn't presented his findings in that experiment, I still say what he says has a lot of truth. I don't know why you want to find it so hard to believe--but it is true. Perhaps you haven't seen what we've seen, heard what we've heard, or experienced what we have...but it happens.

Now, as I said earlier--you're not making yourself look any better by spamming his thread with stuff that has entirely nothing to do with this issue. I know you may think it's cute, but it's not.

As a member of "the majority", I am incapable of understanding the mechanics of racism except at a most superficial and intellectual level. And I don't mean that in a glib way - it's a given that those in the majority are going to miss much (if not most) of the disenfranchisement of the minority. But I actually would disagree with or expand upon some of your points. Its not that whites are often racist but that we all are sometimes racist. Being in the majority in America (for now) means white racism has institutional and historical significance but we all got issues. I say let's walk the path together.

I disagree that gays are more racist than whites. Gays are more supercifial than straights - maybe. But that is in part because men are more superficial than women. I've had women propose to me - a jewish girl in school and a spanish and a black girl during one summer in NY. That told me that the problem isn't race, the problem is men.

As for whites being held as an ideal, that may have been true in the past when that was all the media showed. But frankly Jimmy the Greek exposed the real complex some white males have. In a moment of honesty he wondered aloud (and I paraphrasee) "If the black man plays quarterback and coaches, what is left for the white man. We can't compete with the black man athletically." We heard similar comments when Tiger starting dominating golf tournaments. I suggest much of the republican party is going through that same angst with regards to Obama.

Guys who write ads that say "No fats, fems, blacks, or Asians" could at the very least, as Telstra or somebody else said, reword their ads so that they aren't so offensive. If you prefer white guys, just say you prefer white guys. I don't think anybody in this discussion is foolhardy enough to think these very deep-seated preferences are going to change. But at least you can change how you present yourself to the world.

Guys who grew up in racial ghettoes (whether on an Iowa farm or downtown Detroit), might consider at least being open to the possibility of being friendly with people of other races you encounter and not just writing those people off automatically as being too different to be worth your time. Some of the most satisfying relationships often grow out of friendships.

And even those guys who strongly disagree that there is any degree of racism involved in this issue can at least be willing to acknowledge how those of us on the other side feel about this, rather than summarily dismissing our arguments and calling out reverse racism.

Why should any "Ad Subscriber" be less blunt just to please your eyeballs? Why should they? I don't see what the problem is..It's not like you're going to send that "Ad-Subscriber" a "reply" saying you want to chat...That person is saving you TIME...So you skip over it and keep it moving.....Gay Black guys create the same adds that say "Not interested in white guys"....Straight women of all races do the same thing....To each his own...

I posted a while back that I met another Black guy who was upfront about his preference for "white Guys"...At first I thought he dated other races outside of his race, which was cool with me but he explained to me that he "preferred" dating white guys (only) over Black guys or any other race...

I was "temporary" until he found his "White Knight"...He didnt say it like that but thats what he meant....Needless to say there wasnt a 2nd anything...I'm thankful that I did not waste my time or his time...People need to be upfront and honest about their preferences, the type of relationships they're looking for & the type of person they want ..It's not a wise thing to play with person's emotions..


White JUBERS see the "Heading" of this thread and assume the OP is calling them "racists"...That's not what he's doing..Once I read the OP's responses its clear his "Good looks" get overlooked (Online for the most part) and it's hard for him to deal with it...That's a personal issue and there's not a Damn thing any of us can do to help him with that...
