Here's who I would like to see to win in the major categories not who I think will (or deserves to) win.

Picture - American Hustle

Actor - Leonardo Dicaprio

Actress - Cate Blanchett (her performance is spectacular) or Amy Adams (Everything she does is great - she deserves a win!)

Supporting Actor - Michael Fassbender

Supporting Actress - Sally Hawkins

Director - David O Russell

Original Screenplay - Her

Adapted Screenplay - 12 Years a Slave

The only one I agree with there is Cate Blanchett braex I can't stand Leonardo DiCaprio. Only thing I thought he was good in was What's Eating Gilbert Grape.

I do Love Amy Adams though. She's been nominated what, 100 times so far. Give the woman her award already. Next year

Best Actor - Matthew McConaughey

Best Actress - Cate Blanchett

Best Supporting Actor - Jared Leto

Best Supporting Actress - Jennifer Lawrence

Best Director - Alfonso Cuaron

Best Original Screenplay - Her

Best Adapted Screenplay - 12 Years a Slave

Best Animated Feature - Frozen

And all of the technical awards...Gravity will take.

Pretty good, but I'd say Jared Leto, and Alfonso Cuarón are iffy.

I also think Frozen will take out Best Animated Feature. Although, there may be a chance that The Wind Rises will take out the award. The Academy does like Miyazaki.

It is looking so good for Matthew and Jared, don't you think after the SAGs and Critics Choice Awards. Would be so good to see them take Oscar to bed.

Actors are the largest voting demographic for the Academy. SAG winners are usually a lock.

This year's nominations have generated some curious outcomes. To name a couple -

Jonah Hill now officially has more acting Oscar nominations than Gary Oldman and Robert Redford.

It can now be referred to as 'Academy Award nominated Jackass presents: Bad Grandpa'.

Real time posting doesn't really work for Aussies - the Oscars air at around 1PM on a work day for us.

I generally get the results fed to me by office colleagues, or I catch it on the local news as I am having dinner.
