buzzer buzzer, we're either conveying meaning in a limited space, or acknowledging it is pointless to try to say anything meaningful in so few words. If "I'm straight acting" is worth saying at all, I'm going to go with "it means something," and then try to figure out what it means. If it was pointless to say anything, people would just write "Bazooka penguin orange asphalt ladle. Call me."
The fact that they pick words they intend to be meaningful means we get to decide what they mean.
It has already been amply stated in two threads now that what the term means is that someone straight-acting sitting at a table eating their lunch is pretty unlikely to have people pick him out of a crowd and think he's gay.
However "bothersome" the concept is that people associate any number of factors or qualities into guessing at whether or not someone may be gay, everyone does it. Including gay people. Hence the term "gaydar."
