But who will win it?

Portugal? Germany? Spain? France?

greaves is putting a few euros on Spain, those consistent under-achievers.

We have a fascinating 3 weeks ahead.:D

The website is terrific:

For me as a Liverpool Fan it has to be Spain 1st Holland 2nd.

So glad its on and this fourms back I'm having football withdrawal lol.

No doubt at all the Dutch were much the better side v Italy. :=D::=D::=D:

But their first goal was clearly offside. Here is UEFA's hilarious explanation of why it was NOT offside:

How could Panucci be considered "active" or "interfering with play" when he was lying on his back 2 yards outside "the field of play"?

That last quote - "The Field Of Play" - is important, as it is one of the 17 basic rules of Association Football. All referees, at all levels, have to know and adhere to these rules.

UEFA has, it seems, decided to extend "the field of play" to "anywhere within the arena/stadium".

So if Panucci had suffered 2 broken legs in clashing with his own goalkeeper, had then been concussed by crashing into a Dutch beer advert behind the goal, and was subsequently receiving treatment from the Austrian Swiss Sideline Emergency Services - otherwise known as ASSES - would he still be considered as
"active" and "interfering with play"?

Was going to say watch the referee/officials in this evening's game Russia v Spain, as huge amounts of money are beginning to pour into Russian football.

But Spain are leading 2-0 at HT. :D

woohoo!!

Spain 4 - 1 Russia :gogirl:

Four goals scored by my future ex-boyfriends. A hat trick from David Villa and one from Francesc Fàbregas!

I'm supporting Portugal and Sweden.

Who knew the Swedish team was so damn hot!

Portugal had a great 3-1 win over Czech's today.

technically you can still be part of the play when you are that close

anyway, he took an obvious dive and left the pitch with the the referee's permission, he could have gotten two yellows

^ Good to see such an intelligent, witty, and knowledgeable poster on this thread: uofagay .

Must be a ManUtd follower...ie: having not a clue of what football is all about.

But back on topic:

Croatia 2 Germany 1. :=D::=D::=D:

Makes the next game tonite - Austria v Poland - more interesting, but Croatia and Germany are almost certain to go thru' to the next stage.

Croatia vs Germany was a great game to watch. :D

Seemed like Germany left their shooting boots in the changing room.

UEFA will hope Italy and Germany get thru' to the next stage.

Howard Webb, with his "brave" (ie. ridiculous), penalty decision last night has ensured Germany will progress.

Italy, of course, are past masters at securing their own ends without help from UEFA.

You can be sure they will be in the next stage.
