Why are so many dumb fucks so willing to bareback?

I admit I've done it once, to my absolute regret, but the worry and stress it caused me will make sure I never do it again!

These people who show such blatant disregard for their own health and the health of those they have sexual contact with is absolutely mind-numbing. I read a term in a post above that actually made me gasp in horror, that term being "HIV+ Friendly".

Why anyone would want to have sexual contact with someone and not give a damn whether they contract a fatal disease/virus is absolutely beyond me.

However these people are individuals and, although many people with an ounce of common sense see the dangers and would never risk their health in such a way, they do have the right to make their own choices and live the way they wish, it is afterall their right as a human being. I just wish that these people would be up front with others who may not have the same disregard for their health.

Perhaps more education about the dangers of sex should be made available for people before they get to the sexually active stage.

This would help a great deal I think, but unfortunately many parents feel the best sex education is the wait until marriage speech or sex is dirty, a sin, and you should avoid it speech. A lot of people would still make poor decisions regarding their health even if they did know the consequences, but the more people know about safe sex, the better I think

Some people get high from risk. Smoking, binge drinking and unprotected sex seem to be rites of passage for some people. Many young people see themselves as invincible and/or don't care for the lifestyle manifested by the older folks in their lives. Growing old doesn't carry the same wright as enjoying the moment.

Yeah it is such a shame that some parents who teach their children in this manner do not realise the damage they can be causing their offspring in later life.

In my opinion, if it saves even one life, the governments and education authorities should integrate it alot more into learning at school, that includes sex ed for gay people.

Obviously people can choose to ignore advice given by their peers, at least they won't have the excuse that they didn't know any better. In general, some of the questions you hear that teenagers have asked about sex nowadays, really gives sex ed in schools a bad name!

I see this all the time on craigslist or hookup sites. They'll have a picture of their ass and somewhere in the ad it will say "looking for bareback tops" or something like that.

Sultan, firstly, thank you for caring enough to spreak you mind on this subject. Secondly, though I try to avoid switching some else's question around, I feel compelled to make an exception.

My version of the question is as follows:

Why do grown men who insist upon doing whatever the hell they want, get their panties all bunched up over the inevitable criticism, judgment, condemnation, and damnation that follows.

If you are man enough to get out here and act a damn fool, endangering your own life and possibly others, you should be man enough to take the social disapproval that comes with it.

And why do people who take unreasonable HIV-related risks turn around and demand that more money be thrown at medical real research to alleviate a situation that they are helping to make worse because they won't wrap it up!

There are consequences for every action and inaction. Even the act of criticizing and judging, like I am advocating, could come back to bite us because that's a sin too. But it's a chance somebody needs to take because there's brothers out here acting a fool and courting danger.

We just have to say and do what we think is right and pray that God understands if we overstep our bounds and get too preachy (which is possible).

People are forgetting the "breeding" perversion of the gay community where seriously fucked gay men attend "breeding" parties where they can "breed" a HIV- person (sadly, many times they're young men) into being HIV+.

Dozens of HIV+ men will bareback gangbang the 'recruit' and 'breed' him.

I think we have a responsibility towards ourselves when it comes to our sexual health. You may think you are "right" for saying that bareback sex is wrong but if others are fully aware of the possible outcome of having dangerous sex then that is surely their responsibility. When I was single I went around with the outlook that every guy I met/dated/slept with was HIV+. Therefore I always protected myself against possibly contraction of that virus and many others. There wasn't even a big campaign when I was growing up about HIV but when I was old enough to have sex I knew what it was and how you got it. Pretty silly to assume those engaging in unprotected sex don't know the consequences.
