i can understand how you feel about taking something from your body that you have always had. i had testicular cancer and they removed my right testicle in 2007 since then i have avoided all contact with guys sexually.

... At this point, boys should be taught to begin sliding their foreskins back and forth. It's also the time when boys should be evaluated for phimosis and treatment begun. It just confounds me that we have so many guys in their late teens and early twenties who are becoming sexually active and who discover that they have phimosis that requires surgical intervention.
....Urologists aren't the problem. It's usually pediatricians, although this is getting much better...

It shouldn't confound you KaraBulut; it should come as no surprise to anyone that we have such problems in the US. I'd argue the point that pediatricians are the problem... The blame should be laid exactly where it belongs: Directly at the feet of parents. They are the ones who cannot bring themselves to openly discuss or teach their sons about their developing genitals. It's a damn shame.![]()
I agree that parents have a role in this but there's a lack of education that's a barrier. It wasn't until I did pediatrics in grad school that I learned that the foreskin doesn't detach from the glans in males until much later- usually age 8 to 16. Parents don't know what to look for either and I just don't know where they would learn this information- health classes in the US have been cut from middle school and high school curriculums and unless it's covered in a Lamaze type class, parents just don't what is normal.

Great advise paatreides, I'll keep that in mind.
So guys I went to my follow up appointment today and everything seems to be going great!
I still have around 5-7 stitches that have to come off... after that I'll post pictures of how everything turned out.
Love ya for the support.
), and i plan to tell you about my personal experience.
; before I used to cum almost right away when the guy's tongue touched my prepuce since it's sooo sensitive, now, it requires some effort. But whenever I masturbate I don't have ANY problem feeling pleasure and I enjoy it more (I would say). So in sum, it is a bit confusing, but things definately change. (but don't ever question you will stop reaching orgasms, you will be reaching them one way or the other, that's for sure).
and sex is not bad at all, just taking a little bit longer for my current partner (who may or may not have the fault) to make me reach orgasm particularly when giving me a blowjob.

... Sensitivity went down like a bitch, this is something you should KNOW. It when from let's say 100% to around 75%, and it has slowly been coming back. In some ways its positive since I lovee the sensation of the going-commando feeling when wearing boxer shorts whenever I feel like wearing them (it's very very comfortable). In some other ways it's negative...
...2. Masturbation changes completely, before i used to feel pleasure by the prepuce rubbing the glans with every up and down movement, now i focus much more on the shaft, the frenulum (which my doctor wisely decide to keep), the glans and the fricition...
So, as you may or may not know, I am a graduated physician now (initiating my speciality in 15 days), and i plan to tell you about my personal experience.

Rodvill, it looks really good. I think you made the right choice.![]()
Thank you for returning this thread and giving an update.
And a special thank you for the follow-up picture. Your surgeon did a really good job- that's a very even smooth incision line and it looks like he left you enough skin so that it's not overly tight.
You probably are aware of this since you've been through med school but so that others are aware- all surgical incisions will have temporary loss of sensation and numbness.
The surgical process that cuts through the skin cuts through the nerve endings on the top of the skin. The result is a temporary numb feeling along the surgical line. This would be the same whether you have surgery on your knee, your belly or anywhere on your body.
The important thing is that the loss of sensation is temporary. It takes about 6 months to 2 years for the nerve endings to regenerate and for full sensation to return.
Circumcision removes a band of skin. The loss of those endings is another matter. Since those nerves are removed along with the skin, which results in a permanent change in sensation. The changes that you describe where you feel more pleasure on the shaft and less pleasure from the rubbing of the foreskin against the head of the penis is very typical of what most guys who are circumcized as adults say.
Congrats on graduating.
