Every time I open a thread that has anything to do with religion, I regret it soon after.  Often, JUB is a place that allows for conversation around different viewpoints.  Even when there is an argument, there are some on both sides.
However, when the topic of religion comes up, I see so much hate and persecution.  I curiously opened the Hawkins thread in CE&P and was quite disgusted 
 
  
You'd think people that have experienced persecution in their own lives would be more open-minded and accepting of DIFFERENCE.  I still don't get it after being a member and observer here for years. 
Personally, I'm an agnostic.  I find hardcore atheists to be just as deplorable as the hardcore fundamentalists.  However, I understand that everyone has a right to believe what they want as long as they do not let it affect the way they treat other people.
